Last night bad been, well, Claudia wouldn't exactly say amazing, because there were plenty of moments that were pretty darn awkward. But they'd laughed through most of that, and the rest was definitely off to a good start. She was almost wondering just how good things would be as Kitt learned more about her reactions and when things felt exactly right.

But there were also more than a few moments where she wished she could tweak his programming so he didn't have to be so focused on making her happy instead of just enjoying things. Once in a while, she wanted him to just be selfish for a change, and make decisions and do things because they felt right. They'd probably have a lot to talk about.

Luckily, right now was not the time for talking. She was just enjoying the feel of having another warm body next to hers, someone she really did care about. That thought had her shifting just enough to go on one elbow, looking at him in a state Kitt had been afraid to encounter not too long ago. Just the sight of him made her smile, and she hoped to enjoy it a lot more.

Dreams were strange. He was re-living something he'd done as a car, but in his dream he was on two legs, chasing after someone instead of waiting outside as he'd always done. Claudia. He was chasing Claudia. But when he caught her, they were no longer going after some criminal. Instead, he was grabbing her around the waist and they were... giggling?

The image in his mind made him smile, opening his eyes, and then blinking slowly as he came back to wakefulness, taking in his surroundings, the realization that he was naked, Claudia's beautiful face staring down at him - and then the memories of the previous night came flooding back into his mind, his smile faltering for a moment before finally growing wider.

"G'morning." He yawned and stretched, but didn't feel the need to move too much just then. The view from his pillow was far too lovely. He did allow himself the indulgence of reaching up to stroke the her cheek with the back of his fingers, marveling at this incredible woman he'd been so, so lucky to meet.

She felt a hint of worry as the smile falters, not knowing what caused it, but then it returned, and she felt her own smile answering it.

"Yes, it is, isn't it?" Mostly because, well, they'd had a good night, too. There was a part of her that still wondered how this was even her life, but, well, having an artificial intelligence for a...was boyfriend even the right word? That was totally her life.

"Especially with the company."

Now that they had, that they had indeed. An unforgettable night, definitely an experience he would very much like to repeat. Boyfriend? He would very much like the sound of that!

He was still smiling softly up at her, his own thoughts a tumble of memories, emotions, realizations.

"The best night of my life." He could say that sincerely; he'd never felt so amazingly alive before. So fulfilled. So... wanted.

"I have no complaints about the company. I can't imagine finding anyone else who is so... compatible."

"And it only gets better with experience," Claudia said, smirking and leaning in to steal a kiss.

Compatible was definitely a good word, because they just clicked in a lot of ways. Even when he was sometimes annoyingly naive, she liked being around him. And being the one to show him new experiences.

"It's almost scary how quickly you learn."

He kisses her back, happily and enthusiastically - as if he could kiss her any other way!

Claudia was a very good teacher. Michael had taught him what he needed to know to make it to this point in life, but there were some things the man just couldn't help him with, and Claudia was picking up the slack nicely, even when he knew he was trying her patience. He didn't mean to be annoying or overly inquisitive, but so far he hadn't driven her away, which was as fantastic a sign as he could hope for.

Leaning back again, he finds himself studying her face, memorizing the fine details of her features. Between their states of undress, the kiss, and talking about their previous night's activities, he was already hard again, but this time he felt no embarrassment about it. He wasn't going to tell Claudia - he didn't want her to think him insatiable - but even if he did she could hardly blame him, could she? She's awakened and stirred a passion within him that he hadn't known he was even capable of possessing, and for that alone she was special to him - for that alone, but in so many other ways as well!

"I have always tried to apply myself to the best of my ability to those subjects that I find particularly interesting. Having a marvelous teacher who shares her student's enthusiasm is also a boon to learning." His smile was oh-so-innocent, butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.

Claudia chuckled a little at his easy enthusiasm, smiling into the kiss. She had no idea what was happening in that inhuman mind of his half the time, even when they were discussing human behavior. And his way with complements sometimes had her blushing. Like now.

"There were some fringe benefits to the exercise. Not sure you don't have an unfair advantage with all of the sensory input you can usually handle. I think before long you may know my body's reactions better than I do..."

But she wasn't complaining.

Mostly, he was trying to make sense of everything he was experiencing. Especially now, with the way his life has changed so dramatically in the span of one year's time. If the uncanny valley reared its head, it was probably because he was on uncertain footing, not having quite figured things out yet and emphasizing the differences between himself and the humans around him.

"I certainly hope so!" He wasn't sure whether he should be smiling or frowning at that. "I will admit to having felt overwhelmed at times - not worryingly so, but enough to notice. I don't normally process quite that much input at one time, and it was somewhat taxing - although never unpleasant." He smiled at her to let her know that there were no complaints on his end, either. "Once I become more accustomed to these activities and the reactions they elicit from the both of us, I think you may be correct in that assessment. Is that a concern for you?"

"Somebody's a little optimistic," Claudia teased. "And no, not really concerned. One of these years we'll have to figure out where the differences between your capacity and mine lie."

Because she honestly envies it sometimes, and seeing him overwhelmed is a pleasant change. She's almost tempted to try for another go.

"There are a lot of activities that can be tried."

"Somebody is remembering someone else's implication." He smirked back at her, pleased with himself. "I'm glad you're not. I don't want to make you uncomfortable. If I ever do, please tell me right away." He pauses, going over her words. "Sooner than that, I should think. Forget discomfort; I don't want to hurt you." That was a distressing thought.

Normally the feeling of being overwhelmed would have been close to terrifying, but with Claudia - her presence, her guidance, her care - and the circumstances, being both exciting and wonderful, he'd been able to ride it out, to fully indulge himself in the experience without it sweeping him under. Claudia had kept him grounded, and it had been a truly amazing experience.

"Like?" He leaned back into the pillows, angling his head in curiosity as he stared up at her, wondering what she might have in mind.

"Oh, I could tell you to just lie back and...think of England," she teased. A part of her wondered how he would react if she nestled herself between his legs for something even better than a morning kiss.

"But yes, I would tell you if something weren't right."

"Think of England?" He frowned, seriously confused now. "Is there something important about England I need to know?" He'd never heard that phrase before, despite all his time working with Michael, despite all his time being activated.

But how would he react if she did that? Perhaps she should try and find out?

"That's a relief. I'm serious, I do want to know." His confused expression turned into one of concern.

"It's a bad one-liner that was supposedly how Queen Elizabeth got through her wedding night, Kitt," she says, eyes glimmering as she tries not to laugh at his lack of pop culture references. "I have to remember how sheltered you are..."

"Really? Was she upset about getting married? Or - wait, wasn't she known as the Virgin Queen? Or am I thinking of the wrong Elizabeth?" She'd succeeded in distracting him, as now his mind was working through British history - maybe proving her point about his sheltered upbringing.
